Andy Cohen is not just hoping but sure that Dorinda Medley will return to 'RHONY' "renewed and refreshed".
Executive producer of the Bravo TV series, Andy Cohen discussed a potential return to 'The Real Housewives of New York' for Dorinda Medley this season, responding to the various reports that she was fired by him for the turkey baster comment last month.
While he admits it wasn't a pleasant comment from Medley, it wasn't "the last straw" for him like the source who told PageSix that it was. "I love her," Cohen said of the 55-year-old. "She has been so iconic to the show from the moment she walked in."

"[Dorinda] would be the first person to tell you that she didn't have a great season this season," he continued on the same 'Sirius XM' show 'Radio Andy' on Wednesday. "There was a big story on Page Six that said her turkey baster comment was the last straw for me personally. While I didn't like that comment, that's not true."
The comment referred is the jab Medley took at Tinsley Mortimer's fertility issues on episode 11 of the current season (S12). While everyone was convinced it was what led to her dismissal from the show halfway into the season, Cohen firmly denied it.

In turn, he said that she had a lot to handle in terms of her personal life and needed a pause, despite her discomfort in taking a step back from showbiz. "She said something at the reunion that struck us all, which was that she should have taken the year off," Cohen explained. "She was in a bad place. Her house had been flooded and her dad was sick."
"Maybe Dorinda didn't feel like she could take the year off but sometimes taking a pause is a good thing, and I'm really hopeful that this is indeed a pause and that she will rejoin the show at some point," Cohen continued.
"I have said that to her a couple times, and by the way, I do not say that too often," he insisted. "The door is definitely open. I just think a pause is a good thing and she will come back renewed and refreshed."

Medley announced her decision to exit the show on social media after five seasons. She joined in 2015 of the hit franchise, during Season 7. But she did hint at a possible return already, a couple of days ago. Now, as Cohen is open about it, that might be true for the next season.
