It appears that the Netflix Original Series 'Chewing Gum' will be airing on HBO Max from now on.
A rare move of transferring a show from one streaming platform to another occurred when the Netflix Original Series 'Chewing Gum' moved to HBO Max for its airing. The series, written by and starring Michaela Coel, is a British comedy series that ran from 2015 to 2017, spanning two seasons.
'Chewing Gum' is about a 24-year-old lady named 'Tracey'; a deeply religious working-class girl played by Coel, who is on a quest to lose her virginity. A unique comedy show by nature, it has been received quite well by its audiences so far.

Michaela Coel is very much fascinated by her character on 'Chewing Gum' as she says the character makes her feel like a 'child.' 'But then she’s not, obviously, because I can’t play a 14-year-old,' she talked about the character Tracey to Guardian. 'She becomes very stunted in her adolescence. Maybe her naivety is something that I had even at the time of writing it. I’m still acting kiddish, which I don’t want to lose.'
Michaela Coel disclosed that she first wanted 'Chewing Gum' to be a one-woman play. She'd written it in to play out that way when she wrote it during her final year of acting school at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She was, in fact, struggling to find a role that really fit her, so she wrote one herself.
'I was trying to be someone else and actually failing. I could feel, 'This isn’t good. I can do better than this,' Michaela Cole said. 'So I thought, 'Let me, for once, tell my story.' I started writing memories from secondary school and found I could formulate a story from that.'
