Morfydd Clark was born on March 17, 1989, in Sweden. At the age of 2, her family moved to Penarth, Wales, where her parents raised her alongside her sister. She can speak both English and Welsh well, as she was enrolled in a Welsh-language school.

According to The Guardian, Clark had to leave her school at 16 as she had ADHD, a condition where one finds it hard to concentrate. In addition to ADHD, she also had dyslexia. Though she is a patient with such a condition, Morfydd said she could only centralize her thoughts while performing.

Even though Clark left her school, she used to attend local theaters and engaged herself in acting. She attended Drama School London but quit in her final term to star in Saunders Lewis' Blodeuwedd with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru. 

In 2009, British Youth Music Theatre accepted her for their production of According to Brian Haw and the National Youth Theatre of Wales. However, the star declined the offer and started her career via Blodeuwedd.
