Mike Krzyzewski is the legendary head coach of the Duke University men's basketball team, who will retire after the 2021-2022 season. He is the coach in the Division I men's basketball team.
Duke made the official announcement that former Duke player Jon Scheyer will take over coaching the team. Jon played for Krzyzewski from 2006-10, with his last season resulting in his mentor's fourth NCAA title. He joined the Duke staff for the 2013-14 season.

The 74-year-old Krzyzewski, also known as Coach K, has more career wins than any other basketball coach in Division 1 history, boasting a record of 1170-361. In addition, he led the Duke Blue Devils to five national championships, 12 Final Four appearances, and 15 ACC championships.
Born in Chicago in 1947, Duke attended West Point and served as the academy's basketball team captain in his senior year. After he graduated in 1969, he became the program's head coach. In which he led the team to a 73-59 record over five years in 1974.
As the head mentor of the men's basketball team in 1980, Coach K joined Duke University. During his career as a coach in University, he spends 41 seasons building the program into a powerhouse. Therefore, as a result, in 2005, he became the USA National Team's head coach, helping the team win three Olympic gold medals, becoming the first one to do so.

Duke President Vincent E. Price told in a statement that Krzyzewski is the greatest coach in the history of men's college basketball." As a mentor, he has stacked three Naismith College Coach of the Year awards in 1989, 1992, and 1999.
