In an interview, Pugh confirmed that she and her ex-boyfriend, Zach Braff, had tried to keep their breakup private, "We've been trying to quit this relationship secretly because everyone has an opinion on it," said the couple. 

"We believed that doing something similar would prevent millions of people from telling us how happy they are that we are not together. So that's what we did. When I talk about it, my throat automatically becomes sore."

The 21 years age difference between Braff, 47, and Pugh, 26, drew harsh criticism from a lot of fans. The lovebirds collaborated on the upcoming movie A Good Person prior to their separation.

For Pugh, Braff both wrote the script and directed it. She uttered, "One of my favorite experiences was undoubtedly making the movie with you guys. It appeared very natural and simple to do."

The couple, who were together during the coronavirus outbreak, took their relationship to a whole new level in May 2020 when they adopted an adorable puppy named Billie.
