As per IBTimes, Tyler, who portrayed Gunther on the popular sitcom, died on Sunday after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Aniston wrote, "Friends would not have been same without you. Thank you for bringing laughter to the show and to our lives. #JamesMichealTyler, you will be sorely missed."
Along with the note, Jennifer took a trip down memory lane and shared a video clip from one of her scenes with Tyler. Tyler plated a waiter and manager in Central Perk, the show's coffee house for the uninitiated.
Courteney, too, posted an emotional message on her Instagram account. "The size of gratitude you brought into the room and showed every day on set is the size of the gratitude I hold for having known you. Rest In peace James."
Friends co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer also paid tribute to Tyler on social media with heartfelt posts.
In 2018, the actor learned he had prostate cancer for the first time. He appeared on "Today" in June to discuss his illness and encourage others to get tested as early and frequently as possible.
