Gayle King has been famous for co-hosting CBS This Morning since 2012. She is an American television personality and also serves as an editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine, a monthly American magazine founded by Oprah Winfrey.

King began her career at various television stations before joining CBS affiliate WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked as a television news anchor for the next 18 years. She has also appeared in films and television shows and numerous television specials and documentaries over the years. 

King has received honors for her work, including the prestigious Emmy Awards. In 2019, she was named o the Times Magazine's annual list of the 100 Most Influential People. Aside from her professional accomplishments, she is well-known for her long-standing friendship with Oprah Winfery, the famous talk show host and actress.

Gayle King is currently single, but she was previously married. She tied the knot with William Bumpus, an assistant attorney general in Connecticut. The former duo shared their vows in 1982. However, the couple divorced 11 years later, in 1993, after King discovered him in bed with one of her friends and filed for divorce.

King has always been outspoken about how her marriage fell apart due to infidelity. She has mentioned the events that led to her divorce on several occasions. When asked in Vanity Fair Proust Questionaire who she despised the most, she replied, "I'm not a huge fan of the woman who I caught naked with my now ex-husband on June 24, at 9:16 p.m., but I don't remember the details."

Kings's maid of honor, Oprah Winfrey, described her as "the mother, sister and friend I have always wanted and needed," sat down with Gayle as part of her 2020 Vision Tour with WW, and the tw discussed their friendship and her married life. Gayle revealed in this interview that she tried to make things work with her husband after the incident, but she couldn't get past the betrayal.
