Hart revealed that the day was saved from several problems due to weather conditions by canceling her Japan vacation and rerouting to Oahu, where she first said "I love you" to her future bride. Ella wore a Catbird engagement ring with a pear-shaped diamond set between two smaller stones.

After spending Thanksgiving together in 2016, Hannah and Mielniczenko fueled dating rumors. On July 28, 2018, Hart confirmed the engagement news on Instagram, writing that they "will get married." Even though the wedding date was not set, the engaged couple planned their big day for spring 2020 in California.
