The new dog-grooming competition from HBO Max is tentatively titled 'Hot Dog.'
With everything going on in the world right now, it seems a rather odd time for something so atrociously silly, but HBO Max seems unfazed as they have ordered a new dog-grooming competition with the tentative title 'Hot Dog.'
The series will run 12 half-an-hour episodes featuring three dog groomers competing in all sorts of challenges for all types of breeds. 'Hot Dog' is inspired by the LA-based dog grooming expert and social media powerhouse, Jess Rona, who will lead a judging panel. In addition, the show will be commentated by celebrity guests along with a host.

The executive vice president of non-fiction and kids programming at HBO Max, Jennifer O'Connell, said in a statement:
"Jess Rona has made a name for herself as dog groomer-to-the stars, and it is so fun to be able to bring her incredibly successful online brand and business to life in this way."
O'Connell continued,
"Expect pure escapism that the whole family can watch together and root for their favorite pooch with the most fabulous and creative trans-fur-mations."
The series is executively produced by Nicolle Yaron and Jax Media. Jax Media partners Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Brooke Posch & John Skidmore, said, "We are very excited to work with Nicolle, Jess and HBO Max on this very important project.
