Find out how the former American talk show host Oprah Winfrey underwent a dramatic weight loss.
Oprah Winfrey, the former talk show host of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' has been encouraging people to speak up against racial injustice in response to the recent murder case of George Floyd. 'Those of us who have the ability to be seen or heard in our lives—whether you are Black or white, Asian or Hispanic—it is incumbent on all of us to not just be outraged when we see injustice,' she said.
As one of the most well-known celebrities in America, Oprah's been using her fame to good use by making people aware of the severity of the ongoing situation. Her success throughout her career on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' gave her a platform to raise her voice, which she's been using well to connect to people. Winfrey is engaged to her long-time partner, Stedman Graham.
While she's achieved a lot in her career, she's also taking good care of her health and body. And the main credit for Oprah's well-being goes to her successful weight loss. Here's how she did it.
Oprah Winfrey first realized she needed to undergo weight loss after her doctors told her she was at risk of developing diabetes. She weighed 200 pounds at the time, and the warning from the doctors made her realize that she had to do something about her weight to avoid the chronic illness. In 2019, Oprah revealed she underwent a dramatic weight loss of 42 pounds. She achieved such a feat by beginning her weight loss journey five years ago through a weight loss program named WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers.

She also wrote that her blood pressure 'was now stabilized and in a healthy range' and that her sugar levels are also 'back to normal.'

Another main thing Oprah advises people on weight loss is to live a balanced life. She says the key to staying healthy is to have a balanced life. Exercise and a proper diet will only keep you healthy if the rest of your life is stable.
'What I've learned this year is that my weight issue isn't about eating less or working out harder, or even about a malfunctioning thyroid,' Winfrey told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in 2018. 'It's about my life being out of balance, with too much work and not enough play, not enough time to calm down. I let the well run dry.'
