Also, in a talk with Closer magazine, he said, "My missus accused me of having an affair once because I kept disappearing and coming back with green on my knees. It was courgette season, and I was in the vegetable patch!" However, in an interview in 2008, she stated that she trusted her husband and is much more secure about him now.

The Naked Chef star was recently criticized for his versions of dishes such as Jollof rice in 2014 and Jamaican jerk rice in 2018. YouTube influencer Uncle Roger shared his experience and reaction showing how grossed out he was because of the chef's recipe. "You hear sizzling? I hear my ancestors crying. This guy, I think he just hates rice in general." Uncle Roger bewailed.
