He opened the scoring by tapping in the rebound from his own penalty in the 21st minute. He had earned the penalty after being tripped by Luke Ayling inside Leeds penalty box. Even though Illan Meslier managed to save it, he could not prevent Lingard from putting in the rebound.
It adds to Lingard's tally of four goals for the Hammers since he joined them on loan from Manchester United. Another goal for the East London club came from Craig Dawson seven minutes later, as he scored a free header from a corner.

Dawson and Lingard have been the stars of the home team in recent games as they have scored seven of West Ham's last 13 Premier League goals. Moving to the fifth spot in the league table, they are just two points off the top four.
On the other hand, Leeds United players were not clinical with the chances they got. Striker Patrick Bamford missed two clear-cut chances in both halves of the game, hindering efforts made by Marcelo Bielsa's team to get back in the game.
