Likewise, her father, Donald J Harris was a professor emeritus of economics at Stanford University, who arrived in the U.S. firm British Jamaica.

Kamala and her younger sister, Maya lived in Berkeley, California, specifically in central Berkeley. For education, she completed her bachelor's in arts from Howard University. Later, she completed her graduation with a Juris Doctor in 1989. Just a year later, she hired as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, California. Similarly, in August 2000 she took a new job at San Fransisco City Hall, alongside working for Louise Renne, a fellow city attorney. Her niece is also a prominent figure as Meena Harris.
