Unlike Caren's glamorous career, her husband's professional life is quite the opposite, because he is a senior pastor of Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ in Detroit. The two fell in love and dated for sometime before tying the knot on June 16, 1984.

Luckily, Clark shared the company with husband Bishop when she faced the life-threatening blood vessel burst during a bariatric surgery in 2001. Despite a 2% survival chance, she went to coma for three and a half weeks before making a miraculous recovery. In 2020, the married duo enters the 36th marriage anniversary, which indicates how they held it together in all the good and bad moments to come this far.

Similarly, she gave birth to son John Drew Sheard II in 1989.
