Lauren German was born on November 29, 1978, in Huntington Beach, California. Her father was a vascular surgeon. German’s dutch grandfather on her father’s side immigrated to the US with his family at German early age. Consequently, she holds American citizenship. According to sources, Lauren’s ancestry is English.

Lauren went to Los Alamitos High School and Orange County High School of the Arts for schooling. Later, she enrolled at the University of Southern California and studied Anthropology.
