Why does no one hear of Maci Bookout much despite being in the 'Teen Mom' universe for so long? Because her family does not have that drama people like to unfold. Sorry for having a perfect husband and kids, right?
Still, that doesn't mean there won't be drama along the way. While life is perfect for her with her husband, Taylor McKinney, a part of her past is Ryan Edwards, a thing that made a teen mom in the first place. But things are changing for the better for co-parenting their son, Bentley.
Why would trouble be there in this paradise?

Maci lives in a Tennessee mansion with Taylor, their two kids, as well as Bentley. And married life has never been more perfect in comparison to any other teen mom.
Bookout was in her junior year at high school when she gave birth to her first son. She was a typical all-rounder, excelling at school as well as in softball and cheerleading. When she was pregnant, she moved in with her then-fiancé Edwards. Bentley was born on October 27, 2008, which was definitely one of the hardest things she did in her life, but ultimately rewarding.
There were strains in the relationship from the start.

Then, Maci was cast in MTV's debut Teen Mom show, '16 and Pregnant', premiering in June 2009. It was evident since then that the relationship with Edwards was strenuous, but she said they wanted to work it out for Bentley's sake.
With the massive success of '16 and Pregnant', she was cast in the main spin-off 'Teen Mom' in December 2009, alongside the primary members, Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell. For her story, it revolved around her potential wedding and struggling to balance motherhood while she watched her friends leave for college.

Things were too difficult to balance in their relationship that Maci decided to end things with Ryan in 2010, as she was frustrated with him not stepping up as a father.

The two tried co-parenting in years after their breakup as they battled for child support and custody of Bentley. With Edwards' string of girlfriends, Bookout wanted better for Bentley. But when he finally settled down with now-wife Mackenzie Standifer in 2017, she approved of her.

Edwards' substance abuse was another thing Bookout was fearful of. She was afraid he might do something to himself to regret later on. But when she and McKinney got that threatening phone call from him, they found it necessary to file for a restraining order against him. With an allegation of creating physical commotion during Bentley's baseball game under influence, they were granted a two-year restraining order, in effect until December 2020.

Repeated felonies started making Bookout angry at him, but at the same time happy for him getting arrested as he would be safer from the substance abuse thing than when free. But these days, she admits she's not angry at him anymore. The CoronaVirus lockdown has influenced them to review some things about each other in the past.
The relationship with Edwards was no more, but he and his family continued to be on the show as he was still the father to her child. But he and Standifer left the series in July 2018. Still, his parents, Bentley's paternal grandparents, Jen and Larry Edwards, were expected to appear.

After breaking things off with Ryan in 2010, Maci found solace in her childhood friend, Kyle King. They dated for nearly two years, before calling it off in 2012. Their relationship was featured on 'Teen Mom' Seasons 2 and 3, of course.
'Teen Mom' took an indefinite hiatus after 2012's Season 4. Bookout was finally fully free to find a new life partner who would be willing to take care of her and Bentley in a much better way. And so she did. It's unclear as to when they first met, but Maci and Taylor started dating in 2012.
However, Taylor was in Dallas at the time (they might've met online). So the relationship was mostly long-distance. Still, they found a perfect way to make things work. They were star-crossed and meant to be together. It was right from the start. Say what you will about fate, but it was definitely it.
Yeah, it was fate alright.

Things were heading in the right direction for the couple all the time. In May 2014, she announced to her fans that McKinney was moving to Tennessee from Dallas and that they were moving in together. She couldn't contain the excitement.
"Just dropped T off at the airport... can’t believe that the next time I see him he will officially be a Tennessee resident #makinmoves," she tweeted at the time.
When 'Teen Mom' finally returned for its fifth season, Bookout got her place as her relationship was featured as part of the show as well. And after a year of living together, the couple welcomed their first child together. Daughter Jayde Carter was born on May 29, 2015.
We'll just skip over the feud she had with Farrah Abraham here. It's familiar among 'Teen Mom' viewers, obviously.
Their relationship marched on as they started a joint clothing line called, 'Things That Matter', in November 2015. Then a month later in December, Maci pretty much knew that Taylor was going to propose to her someday soon.

And so he did in the New Year of their relationship as well as the calendar. During a trip to the beach in Los Angeles in January 2016, Taylor popped the question, and this time too, she couldn't contain her excitement.

She captioned the photo she shared of the engagement, "Well y'all, my best friend asked me to marry him! I'm one lucky lady, I love you T!"
Then, just a month after announcing their engagement, they made another announcement of a child coming their way. She was pregnant with Maverick Reed McKinney, who made his way into the world on May 31, 2017. He was unexpected and also had health problems following his birth, which she details in her book, 'I Wasn't Born Bulletproof...'. She also revealed they wanted to adopt a child for a long while now.
Then came another big moment. On October 8, 2016, Taylor and Maci tied the knot at the Honey Lake Church in Greenville, Florida, in front of 165 guests and MTV cameras. Jayde was the flower girl escorted by Bentley down the aisle, as they pulled baby Maverick along in a wagon.
During a Season 7 episode of 'Teen Mom OG' in January 2018, Maci reveals that she had a miscarriage in 2017 when discussing a possible third child together. It was one of those few moments where the tension between them was apparent. But they still considered adoption in the table, with a few differences in their choices.
It was confirmed in May 2019 that they plan to adopt a child in the future, or two, if there ever occurs such a case. But the tension was not over yet. They wanted to wait for a while before going forward with it.

Later it was known that Maci asked Taylor for a vasectomy as she couldn't be on birth control because of her PCOS. He didn't particularly like the idea of being permanent on birth control as he wanted to wait a bit for deciding on it.

It's not that big of a tension for now. But social media has a way to bring things up. They were not aware that people thought they've had struggles and might split in recent times. But a source revealed none of it was true. In February, the source said, "They laugh at them as they are happier together than ever."
And it is an obvious fact when observing them from afar, even if there aren't TV cameras following them around right now. They are in a very good place still.
