When it comes to first meetings, Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves have quite a story to tell their children. Their romance sounds like something out of a fairy-tale, guided and decided by faith. As if meeting a girl at the club and not getting recognized wasn't enough to hurt McConaughey's feelings, he also got shut down by his current-wife Camila Alves twice in the same night. Camila, however, giving in to reluctant Matthew agreed to go on a date with him, and that's the story of how the two ended up with two kids before officially tying the knot. The pair entered into holy matrimony on June 9, 2012, and about six months later, they welcomed a new member to their family. Together, the couple shares three children between them. First Kid: Son Levi Alves McConaughey

The married duo became parents with their first son Levi Alves McConaughey on July 7, 2008, about four years before their marriage. McConaughey doesn't give out much information regarding his children except for their names and ages, but in the case of 11 years old Levi, he revealed more than his other youngsters.

Matthew (net worth) divulged the inspiration of his son's name Levi in an interview with Good Morning America while promoting his movie 'The Dark Tower.' He said in the interview that Levi was the name of a biblical figure and an alternative name of his name Matthew.

McConaughey's favorite scripture from the bible, Matthew 6:22, coincided with the time of his first son's birth at 6:22 PM. So naturally while writing down a name on the card given to him by the doctor which said "_________ was born at 6:22 PM", Matthew wrote Levi, and that's how the name came to be.

The 50 years old actor also admitted throwing his six-month-old son Levi 15 feet into the air to his wife Camila to save the child's life from a charging mountain ram. During a game of True Confessions in 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' Matthew confirmed the confession to be true and told the whole story of the situation.

Second Kid: Daughter Vida Alves McConaughey

The married partners became daddy and mommy for the second time with the birth of their first and only daughter Vida Alves McConaughey on January 3, 2010.

Taking about the newborn, Camila Alves said to People,

I'm very excited to have a girl. I'm happy, and it's a big blessing. Vida's definitely a beautiful and peaceful girl. We are so lucky!

Matthew's daughter's name Vida is a Portuguese word that translates to Life. Playing with this translation, McConaughey appeared in a T-shirt that had 'Vida is Beautiful' written across it around Malibu, CA, just a few days after his daughter's birth. Also, his newborn's baby daughter's name, the statement translates as 'Life is Beautiful,' which was quite thoughtful on the father's part.

Third Kid: Son Livingston Alves McConaughey

Six years and two children later, Camila and Matthew finally decided to make it official when Camila was pregnant for the third time. Just six months after their wedding in a private home in Austin, Texas, the married twosome's third child Livingston Alves McConaughey was born on December 28, 2012.

Unlike their first two children who were very good, Livingston was different, and parenting him for the couple proved to be challenging. While making an appearance on the YouTube series Mom2Mom, Alves said,

It was different with all my kids. My two oldest were so good. And my third came along and he was a nightmare from day one.

Livingston's mother even went far enough to call her son horrible saying,

He was horrible. I shouldn't say horrible, he wasn't horrible but the situation was horrible.

McConaughey talking about why he named his third child with a popular second name, said that he had met a couple of Livingston in his life, and they were the type of people who seemed to have a great constitution recognizable from 200 yards away.

And it also seemed pretty cool to the parents, and thus they decided to go with Livingston.
