In the early years of their marriage, it was "romantic and peaceful," and the couple welcomed two beautiful twin daughters, Isabella Strahan and Sophia Strahan, in 2004. Jean accused her husband of emotional and physical abuse in 2005, which started their marital issues.

Jean Muggli divorced her husband, Michael Strahan, on July 20, 2006, accusing him of cheating, disinterest in their marriage, physical abuse, and even recording her sister undressing. Following the divorce, Muggli received $15.3 million in alimony and $18,000 per month in child support. She also won custody of their twin girls and a $1.8 million share of the proceeds from selling the $3.6 million Strahan house.

In an attempt to gain primary custody of their twin daughters, Strahan accused Jean of abusing them and preventing them from playing volleyball and participating in equestrian events.

Micheal also accused his ex-wife of luxuriously dressing their daughters. He claimed the breach in their marriage began when he challenged her over an unexpected $3.5 million withdrawal.
