As per People, the singer explained on Tuesday's broadcast of his Nick Cannon Show that he did not break his celibacy vow for baby number eight.

The talk show host revealed that he set that aim for himself after learning about Tiesi's pregnancy. "One of the people who told me I should definitely be celibate was my therapist, and the reason for that is because I told him about Bre's pregnancy," he clarified. "That was the impetus for me to begin my celibacy journey at the time. So, to everyone who thinks, "Oh, he wasn't celibate," know that I was!"

When Cannon found out he was having his eighth child, he stated he "didn't know what to do" and tried to "get a grip" on his life. "I felt out of control," he explained, "and honestly, celibacy did help me through the road of becoming one with myself and being able to deal with this." While celibacy was a beneficial tool,

Cannon later claimed that he is no longer celibate, despite having "nearly made it to New Year," as he had intended.

Cannon and Tiesi's pregnancy announcement was revealed this weekend after the two staged a party to announce they'll be welcoming a baby boy later this year.

He also has ten-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey; four-year-old Golden and one-year-old Powerful, whom he shares with Brittany Bell; and seven-month-old twins Zion and Zillion, whom he shares with Abby De La Rosa

In June 2021, Cannon and Alyssa Scott had their baby Zen, but the newborn kid developed brain cancer shortly after and died on December 5.
