Niecy surprised her fans after she posted a picture of her wedding on her social media pages. In the photo, Nash wore a white lace gown, while Betts was dressed in a cream suit with no jacket. 'Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,' Nash wrote the caption on Instagram and Twitter. '#LoveWins.'

'I got a whole Wife @niecynash1 #Bestofbothworlds #LoveWins,' Betts wrote in her own Instagram post in celebration of their wedding.

The duo seems to be enjoying their life as a married couple. Just recently in November 2020, they celebrated their first Thanksgiving as 'The Betts.' According to Daily Mail, Nash shared some footage of their holiday and expressed how grateful they were to have each other in their life.

Niecy Nash met her wife, Jessica Betts, for the first time in 2015 through social media. At the time, Nash was married to her ex-husband Tucker. But their relationship was just friendship at first, and they had no romantic feelings towards each other.

'[Jessica] and I were friends, but I never saw her as someone I would date,' Nash said, as per People. 

But in October 2019, Nash split with her husband. Then things began to take shape with Betts.

'I loved her before I was in love with her because she is such a special human being,' she says. 'But we began to see each other in a way we never had before. Sometimes you get so broken by love, you run from it. But I’ve learned that you should always hold space for magic because it can happen at any time.'

They began dating secretly soon and became public only after their wedding.

Niecy Nash Considers Her Marriage to Jessica a 'Coming Into Myself' Rather Than a 'Coming Out'

While many people praise Niecy Nash for revealing her sexuality, the actress herself does not consider it her 'coming out.' She instead regards it as 'coming into myself.'

'[My marriage] has absolutely nothing to do with gender, and it has everything to do with her soul,' Nash told People. 'She is the most beautiful soul I have ever met in my life.'

'I was not suppressing my sexuality my whole life,' she explains. 'I love who I love. At one point in my life, I married twice, and I love those people. And today, I love this person. I've done everything I wanted to do on my own terms and my own way. So my choice now in a partner has nothing to do with who I've always been. It's a matter of who I am in this moment.'

'I don’t feel like my marriage is my coming out of anywhere, but rather a going into myself and being honest about who I love,' she added. 'And I’m not limiting myself on what that love is supposed to look like.'
