The 92nd Academy Award ceremony was held on February 9, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The event was again presented without a host; a tradition continued from that of last year at the 91st Academy Awards.

This year, the South Koreans won 4 awards, the highest number of accolades in the ceremony. The movie '1917' came in second with three awards. The film 'Ford vs. Ferrari,' 'Joker,' and 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood' won 2 awards each. Among actors, Joaquin Phoenix won the Academy Award for the 'Best Actor' for the movie 'Joker' while Renée Zellweger earns the Oscars for 'Best Actress' for her role in the film 'Judy.' Brad Pitt picks up the trophy for the 'Best Supporting Actor' for his performance in the movie 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.'

'Parasite' Becomes the winner of 'Best Picture'

The South Korean movie, produced by Kwak Sin-ae and directed by Bong Joon-ho, won the Academy Award for Best Picture and made history by being the first non-English language film to take the top prize.

The other movies which were nominated in the same category were 'Ford v Ferrari,' 'The Irishman,' 'Jojo Rabbit,' 'Joker,' 'Little Women,' 'Marriage Story,' '1917,' and 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.'

Parasite won a total of 4 awards in the 92nd Oscars, the other three being in the categories 'Best Director,' 'Best Original Screenplay,' and 'Best International Feature Film.' The film's director Bong Joon-ho won the 'Best Director' category.

Joaquin Phoenix wins the 'Best Actor'

The 'Joker' actor Joaquin Phoenix bags the 'Best Actor' award as he did in previous awards ceremonies this year. Joaquin Phoenix won the Golden Globes for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture' and 'Best Leading Actor' in the BAFTA awards for his performance in the film 'Joker' in 2020.

The other actors nominated in the category of Best Actor were Antonio Banderas from 'Pain and Glory,' Leonardo DiCaprio from 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' Adam Driver for the movie 'Marriage Story,' and Jonathan Pryce for the film 'The Two Popes.'

Renee Zellweger earns the Best Actress Award

Renee Zellweger, for her performance in the movie 'Judy,' achieves this year's Academy Awards for Best Actress. Renee, too won the 2020 Golden Globe Award for the category of 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture' and the 2020 BAFTA Award for 'Best Leading Actress.'

The other actresses nominated for the category were Cynthia Erivo for 'Harriet,' Scarlett Johansson for 'Marriage Story,' Saoirse Ronan for 'Little Women,' and Charlize Theron for the movie 'Bombshell.'

Brad Pitt acquires the 'Best Supporting Actor' Oscar in the 2020 Academy Awards

Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' with its well-crafted story and well-received response from the audience, collected the 2020 Academy Awards for 'Best Production Design' and 'Best Supporting Actor.' Brad Pitt receives the Oscar in the 'Best Supporting Actor' category for his role in the movie.

The actors who were nominated for the supporting actor category were Tom Hanks for 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,' Sir Anthony Hopkins for 'The Two Popes,' Al Pacino for 'The Irishman,' and Joe Pesci for the same movie 'The Irishman.'
