Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953, in County Louth, Ireland. He was born in Drogheda and spent his 12 years of life in Navan, County Louth. When he was just an infant child, his father left him and his mother all alone, which resulted in living with his maternal grandparents Philips and Kathleen Smith while his mother left to work in London.

According to People, Pierce is married to an American journalist, author Keely Shaye Smith. The couple met each other in Mexico in 1994. 

After they met, both Brosnan and Smith dated each other for months. Gradually, things between them grew, and the pair created a strong bond. Subsequently, on August 4, 2001, the couple took their vows with close friends and family at Ballintubber Abbey in County Mayo, Ireland.

Pierce and Keely are both enjoying their married life happily. As they have been with each other for 20 years, the duo shares two handsome sons Dylan Thomas and Paris Beckett Brosnan, born in January 1997 and February 2001, respectively.

Pierce Brosnan Was Married Before

The titleholder of Office of the Order of the British Empire(OBE), Pierce Brosnan, was married before he tied his knot with his wife, Keely Shaye Smith. Pierce was married to the late Australian actress Cassandra Harris.

The couple met each other through a mutual friend, as noted by The Sun. While meeting for the first time, Brosnan was mesmerized by her beauty and soon started dating her.

In December 1980, Brosnan and Harris took the vows. Before being married to each other, they bought a house for themselves in Wimbledon. 

In their 11 years of marriage, the two shared a son Sean born on September 13, 1983, one of the industry's finest actors today.

During the filming of The Deceivers in Rajasthan, Cassandra became seriously ill. After diagnosis, it came to know that she had ovarian cancer.

Unfortunately, on December 28, 1991, she took her last breathe at the age of 43. According to Hello Magazine, after four years of his beloved wife's death, Brosnan lost his adopted daughter Charlotte with the same disease on June 28, 2013.
