Robert De Niro Injured His Leg, Forced Off Set of Martin Scorsese's Latest Project

The 77-year old star Robert De Niro injured his leg while filming Martin Scorsese's upcoming movie Killers of the Flower Moon.

While filming on Martin Scorsese's upcoming movie Killers of the Flower Moon, the 77-year-old star Robert De Niro suffered an injury in Oklahoma. According to TMZ reports, the leg injury happened off-set during De Niro's free time. People connected to the film told the outlet that the production wouldn't be affected, and De Niro already filmed his scenes.

Variety confirmed that he was injured, but it is not known how serious it might be. According to the source, the injury occurred on his own time, not on the set. The outlet reports that De Niro was already planning to go home for few weeks.

As per TMZ report, De Niro flew back to New York and will see a doctor. The Apple Original Films production has been shooting in Bartlesville, Pawhuska, and Osage County, Oklahoma. However, it is not fixed whether he will be returning to the set at a later date.

This movie is based on David Grann's bestselling non-fiction book about the newly-formed Bureau of Investigation. In which the Bureau tries to solve the serial murder of members of the Osage Nation. The project also stars Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Pat Healy, and Lily Gladstone.

According to the Tulsa World report, the street of Fairfax, Okla, was covered with dirt to look to 1919. While De Niro was photographed sporting a pin-striped suit with a fedora in antique cars.

The budget for the movie is close to $200 million, and the large-scale production released a first-look photo of DiCaprio and Gladstone on Monday. 

In addition to De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion. According to the Deadline reports, the movie is expected to wrap later or early in 2022.
