Sekou Smith's son Cameron shared a post in tribute to his father's death on his Instagram post. 'Today I lost my best friend and my mentor it hurts but I know he is in a better place now I love you forever dad,' he wrote in the caption of the image he shared of his late dad.

As per his Linkedin profile, Sekou Smith worked as a Senior Analyst NBA Digital at Turner Broadcasting for over 11 years, as he had been working there since November 2009. Besides, he also authored Hang Time Blog on NBA.com and hosted 'The Hang Time Podcast.' In addition, Sekou was also a Senior Analyst on NBA TV's 'The Beat.'
