The Weeknd Won The Male Artist of The Year Award at iHeartRadio Music Awards 2021.
The Weeknd was awarded Male Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2021. After the cancellation of the 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual music awards ceremony returned on Thursday night (27 May 2021) with a masked in-person ceremony at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre.
The 31-year-old singer also won the coveted Song of the Year award for "Binding Lights" and the first title of the TikTok Bop of the Year. Besides The Weeknd, other artists took several accolades with them too.

The Compton rapper, Roddy Ricch, 22, made history as the first artist to win both Hip-Hop Artist of the Year and Best New Hip-Hop Artist. He competed against himself for Hip-Hop Song of the Year with 'The Box' over his own tracks 'High Fashion' featuring Mustard and 'ROCKSTAR' with DaBaby.
As expected, the boy band BTS dominated the Socially Voted Categories by taking home three awards. They got Best Fan Army for the BTS Army, Best Music Video for 'Dynamite,' and Best Music Video Choreography by Son Sung Deuk.
Beating off stiff competition from Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa went home with the Female Artist of the Year Award. However, Swift's 'folklore' was named Best Pop Album, and Megan and Beyoncé's 'Savage' remix won Best Collaboration.

Dan+Shay became the first country group to take home Duo/Group of the Year. They won the award through the fierce battle on their hands with BTS, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, and twenty-one pilots nominated in the category.
For the third consecutive year, Luke Combs was named Country Music Artist of the Year. At the same time, Twenty-One Pilots took Alternative Rock Artist of the Year for the third time. However, the one to receive the Icon award was Sir Elton John, who received his award from Chris Martin and Lil Nas X.

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, got the award ceremony a fantastic start with a performance of Save Your Tears that became a surprise duet with Ariana Grande, 27.
The Weeknd took to the stage solo at the Dolby Theater to sing the first verse of his beloved song before surprising the fans by bringing Ariana out for the second verse. Once the song was over, they warmly hugged each other, and then he threw a hand triumphantly into the air as they announced each other's names.
