Tim Allen couldn't be more of a family man.
Tim Allen addressed his series 'Last Man Standing' with Fox News in which he portrays a father of three — a character that reminds him of his own family.
Allen is a father to two kids in real life, both of whom are daughters; Katherine, 31, and Elizabeth, 11.
The actor finds it hard to believe he and his castmates have managed to conclude eight seasons of Last Man Standing, incidentally the same length his hit sitcom 'Home Improvement' ran.
Allen explained to Fox News, "Although [the 'Last Man Standing' cast] doesn't replace the wonderful the beautiful 'Home Improvement' family that I still am close to, this family is now, we're empty nesters. Everybody at the show ... has grown up ..."
Allen even noticed the similarity between the experiences of his character as a parent with his own real life. Referencing his character's daughter moving away, the actor recalled:
We had an episode ... where we had to change Eve's [Kaitlyn Dever] room, and it reminded me of real life. You know, your kid's not coming back. They'll visit, they're not going anywhere, but they're not coming back to the bedroom they grew up in.
The 66-year-old admitted it was really a tough one for him to perform based on his oldest daughter when she left.
In fact, it's not just about the kids for the actor. Allen added, "Certainly I miss Mike Rowe, who played my brother in maybe one or two episodes, he's been so busy."
Last Man Standing season 8 finale aired on Thursday at 8 pm EST on Fox.
