The Oscar-Nominated Star Timothée Chalamet is Selected to Play in WB's 'Wonka' Origin Story.
The Roald Dahl Story Co. and Warner Bros. announced that the 25-year-old Timothée Chalamet would star in Wonka. According to the studio, the film will "focus on a young Willy Wonka and his adventures prior to opening the world's most famous chocolate factory."
We will get to see the adventure of Willy, famous for his Chocolate factory. The film is a full-on musical, with Timothee getting to show off his singing and dancing skills.
Timothee Chalamet is set to star as the iconic inventor and chocolate maker in Warner Bros and the Roald Dahl Story Co.’s Wonka.
Paul King (Paddington) is set to helm the film titled Wonka. Moreover, King wrote the script with Simon Farnaby (An American Pickle) based on Roald Dahl's classic children's novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Harry Potter producer David Heyman will serve as the film's executive producer alongside Luke Kelly and Michael Siegel.

Oscar-nominated star Timothée of Luca Guadagnino's "Call Me By Your Name," has several high-profile projects upcoming. Some of his projects include Denis Villeneuve's "Dune," Wes Anderson's "The French Dispatch," Adam McKay's "Don't Look Up," and Guadagnino's "Bones & All."
Wonka is not WB's first adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl book; it's his third go. The first release was 1971's Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder in the titular role. Starring Johnny Depp as Wonka and Tim Burton in the director's chair, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was released in 2005.
