Twitter Erupted when Rumors Started Spreading That ESPN's Host Rachel Nichols Had Affair With NBA Star Jimmy Butler.
Social Media erupted when a rumor began spreading that Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler had an affair with ESPN anchor Rachel Nichols during the 2020 NBA bubble.
Last year NBA Insider Chris Haynes reported that when the NBA was in the Orlando Bubble, a security guard found a large thumping going on in a hotel room during the quarantine period. The room belonged to Jimmy, and when the guard knocked on the door, the NBA star answered and said he was dribbling a basketball. Later, somebody saw Rachel comming out of Jimmy's room.

However, when Nicols was in the news lately, the rumor came at an exciting time after an audio recording leaked of her making disparaging comments about fellow ESPN anchor Maria Taylor.
In short, Nichols stated that she felt that ESPN was handing Taylor undeserved opportunities in an attempt to be seen as more diverse. Nichols added that she would not let the company take chances away from her and give them to Taylor.

Though Nichols has since publicly apologized for her comments, the jury is still unsure whether many ESPN fans will forgive her.
Butler had a frustrating 2020-21 NBA season since Milwaukee Bucks eliminated Butler's Team Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
Although Butler did his part in the regular season, he struggled in the playoffs. The 31-year-old shot the ball at a 29.7 percent clip in the postseason and averaged just 14.5 points per game.
After the rumor erupted on social media, fans started looking back at the past to know if they were into each other. Nichols is married and has two kids. Similarly, Butler and his girlfriend are parents to their daughter, who was born in 2019.
