VH1 Announces Premiere of 'RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race'

VH1 officially confirms the premiere date of VH1’s RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race.

'RuPaul’s Drag Race' finally receives confirmation about the celebrity spin-off series premiere, along with a massive twist.

VH1 announced 'RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race' will hit the small screens in the US on 24th April, Friday at 9.30 pm ET/PT, while 'Untucked' gets moved to 11 pm ET/PT. The show will reportedly serve as a direct follow-up to season 12 episodes. Meanwhile, there’s yet to be a premiere date in the UK.

Secret Celebrity Drag Race won’t reveal the identity of the celebrities entering the Werk Room for drag makeovers until the release of each episode.

Drag Race legends Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monet X Change, Trinity the Tuck, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trixie Mattel, and Vanessa ‘Miss Vanjie’ Mateo will all feature in the series.

Speaking of the upcoming spin-off, Ru announced, “We put these celebrities through it! Because no matter how famous your charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent is, you still put your pantyhose on one leg at a time.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race is an American reality series produced by World of Wonder for VH1. RuPaul is the host, mentor, and head judge as he seeks the next drag superstar in America. Michele Visage is one of the other notable judges alongside a whole host of guest judges.

Over the course of its 12-year journey, the show has inspired a few spin-offs; 'RuPaul’s Drag Race: Green Screen Christmas' (2015), 'RuPaul’s Drag Race Holi-slay Spectacular' (2018), and now 'RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race' (2020).

The upcoming spin-off is scheduled to air for four episodes for four consecutive weeks, beginning on 24th April 2020. The celebrity contestants will compete each week in fan-favorite challenges and step onto the runway. Each episode will see one of them declared as ‘America’s Next Celebrity Drag Race Superstar’ and awarded prize money for a charity of their choosing.
