Jack was born to his parents Gordon Lowden and Jacquie Lowden as the eldest son. Professionally, his dad was a bank clerk for 40 years, and his mom worked as a veterinarian for a long time.

Talking about Jack's siblings, his younger brother Calum Lowden is a ballet dancer. At Calum's early age, he learned ballet from the Manor School of Ballet in Edinburgh. 

Later Calum trained at the English National Ballet, and then he enrolled in Royal Ballet School in London. Back in 2016, he became the first soloist at the Royal Swedish Ballet.

At the age of 10, Jack Lowden's parents enrolled him at the Scottish Youth Theatre in Edinburgh. After two years, he played John in a Peter Pan pantomime at the King's Theatre, Edinburgh.

Jack enrolled at the Earlston High School, where he performed in the school's annual productions and concerts, such as Buddy Holly in Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story. After seeing Black Watch's play on its first run in 2007, his first conviction was sawed for becoming a professional actor.
