Sheldon and Amy are back! Sort of. The new Fox comedy 'Call Me Kat' is a go at Fox.
During Fox's launch of the new season on Monday, the network announced it formally picked up a new comedy show, 'Call Me Kat,' involving Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons, best known as Amy Farrah Fowler and Sheldon Cooper, respectively in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
Bialik is going to serve as the executive producer as well as one of the lead stars, Kat, a 39-year-old woman coping with society and her own mother to prove that you can't always get what you want and still be satisfied. Therefore, she wants to use the funds her parents put aside for her wedding to start a cat cafe in Louisville, Kentucky. Sounds like fun to us!

Jim Parsons and his producer associate and spouse Todd Spiewak also signed up for executive production. Although there's no sign yet that Parsons will feature on the upcoming show, we're all going to keep our eyes peeled for new developments. The rest of the notable cast includes Leslie Jordan, Swoozie Kurtz and Kyla Pratt.
'Call Me Kat' is Fox's second official order for the 2020-21 television season, following the animated comedy series 'Housebroken,' which is also scheduled to be introduced at the mid-season while the date is yet to be decided. 'Outmatched' was Fox's only live action television sitcom order this past season, which is not expected to return for season 2.

The Big Bang Theory finished its 12-season tenure on CBS last year as the most viewed TV sitcom, so Fox 's choice to tie up Parsons and Bialik for a new show sounds like a good bet!
