At the time, he decided to stay for the summer at the college he was studying, West Chester University. Muffet was majoring in criminal justice at St. Joseph university and had returned home to West Chester for the summer.

Matt recalls the initial encounter as follows:

I had a job, I could work in the courthouse as an internship for the summer. I met with a guy named Bob Kyle, he walked me around to each office and in each office he said ‘You need to know these people, these people.’ We got to her office and he said, ‘There’s nobody you need to meet here.’ And I said, ‘Ah, there is.'

Muffet also recounts the initial encounter in an article:

I was a criminal justice major at St Joe's. I was working for the summer at Juvenile Probation of Chester County at the courthouse. And one day, they brought this guy in who was going to intern in the department. I remember the first look at him, I remember what he was wearing. I just remember thinking 'That's somebody I would definitely like to meet.'

There was love at first sight, as Muffet describes it:

It was like we were soul mates. It was an instant connection. We would have lunch every day. He played baseball at the time, so I would go watch his games and he'd come and watch my summer league games. He wasn't a basketball player at the time but he was an athlete, so he understood that and you know, he just made me laugh. He could make me laugh no matter what and I just loved that about him. So it was just an instant attraction.

Since then, they have been together. The couple got engaged in December 1977 and married in October of the next year. The two share a son Murphy Mcgraw, who graduated from Indiana University in 2012 and married Francesca Gardner.

Matt McGraw is Involved in Active Social Life Unlike His Wife Muffet McGraw

Matt McGraw is different from his wife, Muffet McGraw, in terms of personality. Even though they have been married for over 43 years, the couple seems to differ from each other in terms of how much socially active they are.

Muffet described herself in an interview with ESPN Women as an introvert — direct, honest, and methodical, almost to a fault. Once she did a personality test and found out she had no trouble firing people. "I hurt people's feelings and don't even realize it," she said.

On the other hand, Muffet's husband Matt is often seen conversing with fans, meeting people, and even appearing on the radio broadcasts.
