'The amount donated will equal the cumulative winnings of the contestants that compete during the weeks Couric will serve as guest host,' an official statement released by the show read.
Katie is going to be one of four guest hosts who will take over for late host Alex Trebek. Other celebrities guest-hosting include Aaron Rodgers, actress Mayim Bialik, and journalist Bill Whitaker.
'Alex was a legend, revered by all of us,' Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards said. 'I want to thank our guest hosts, who will not only help all of us celebrate his great legacy but also bring their own touch to the show.'

The charity work was deemed necessary as a tribute to the late Alex Trebek, who passed away on November 8 due to pancreatic cancer.
On her part, Katie Couric was delighted to host 'Jeopardy!.' She was a fan of the show for many years, so it was like a dream come true for her.
'It is such a thrill to be here guest hosting a show I’ve watched for years, and a real honor to help as we recover after Alex,' Couric said, as per Deseret.
