Sharpton had to change his way of living in order to transform his body. As an article by Business Insider mentions, the prominent reverend and activist used to incorporate fried chicken into all three meals of the day. This habit was absolutely the main factor for his former 305 pounds body mass.
It was evident that Sharpton had to be much stricter in his eating habits. He cut meats and starches from his diet and began eating healthier and more organic food items.
Sharpton's typical breakfast includes three slices of whole-wheat toast along with a Juice Press “Doctor Earth” green juice and English breakfast tea sweetened with Stevia. For lunch, he has a basic salad with a banana and more tea. An article by People also mentions what items Sharpton consumes in his salad. 'It’s always the same salad: lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, two or three [hard-boiled] eggs cut in and balsamic vinaigrette dressing,” says Sharpton of his only solid meal of the day. “My doctor said to me, ‘You’ve got to have some carbs and you need protein,’ so he put me on whole wheat toast,' the politician said.
AI Sharpton lost nearly 60% of his weight almost entirely due to less eating. But he has also incorporated exercise into his daily routine for more benefits. In an interview with GQ magazine, he revealed why he decided to tone up his body.
'As you get older, you’ve got to strengthen your bones. That’s why the weightlifting is important, and why the elliptical is important. The more I did it—and I’ve been doing it every day, seven days a week—the more I found that it was a calming thing. You’ve got to remember, I run a national organization and a television show and a radio show every day. That’s with three different staffs. These are different personalities, different problems, and things you gotta deal with. You need time in the morning to just set yourself down. It’s my morning therapy, and it gets me in shape at the same time.'
