David Letterman is the renowned host of 'Late Night with David Letterman.' He has discussed his lockdown life with his son and current politics on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show in an online video conference.

Letterman said he was having a good time in quarantine, and he's happy he can spend time with his son during the present free period. The former host, who underwent cardiothoracic surgery in the past, mentioned that people don't like him talking about politics. But he felt it necessary to bring up the topic of how President Donald Trump's administration has been handling the current coronavirus pandemic. He also slammed Vice President Mike Pence for not wearing a mask on his visit to Mayo Clinic.

Well, putting politics aside, one thing that fans rarely hear David Letterman talk about in a show is his son, Harry. He mentioned that he's enjoying his quarantine time with Harry in the video conference of Stern's SiriusXM show. But things were not always good for David Letterman and his son. Letterman's family had to deal with an attempted kidnapping incident of Harry in the past that changed them forever.

David Letterman's then-girlfriend Regina Lasko gave birth to their son Harry Joseph Letterman in 2003. The couple later married on March 19, 2009. In 2005, the Letterman family narrowly escaped an unprecedented incident. At the time, police discovered that someone had plotted to abduct their 18-year-old son Harry.

Kelly A. Frank, 43 at the time, who was on probation, got arrested and charged with solicitation for the conspiracy. Kelly worked as a painter on David Letterman's Montana ranch. He was caught planning the abduction with the baby's (Harry's) nanny and sought a $5 million ransom. According to the police, Frank had approached a male acquaintance about the plot, but that person "didn't like the idea" and reported the information to the Teton County sheriff's office.

Kelly received a 10-year sentence after this. But in 2007, he escaped prison and was recaptured and given an additional 10-year sentence. He was released in 2014 but re-arrested in 2015 for violating the terms of his parole. Ultimately, he was released in mid-November of 2018.

But, David Letterman (net worth) is not very fond of the idea. In the same show Sirius/XM, by Howard Stern, David delivered his opinion of the online class system, saying it will not work. "Think about you in this situation; if this were you in school, would it work for you?" he asked. "Of course not."
