'The Call to Unite' Global Live Stream Event Will Feature Oprah Winfrey and Julia Roberts

Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts and more are likely to feature in the Global Live Stream 'The Call to Unite' event.

Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts and Rob Lowe are amongst the several high profile celebrities, who will feature in the upcoming 'The Call to Unite global live-steam event.

Over 200 global leaders, artists, entertainers and community leaders will impart lessons and provide entertaining performances, in an effort to provide support to all those affected, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The event hopes to inspire everyone to rise from this crisis stronger than ever.

The event's press release states:

Today, billions of people around the world are isolated and anxious because of the COVID-19 pandemic — unable to gather with loved ones, go to work, or even mourn those they’ve lost. Still, in this moment of isolation, millions are rising to the occasion by showing each other love and support in countless ways.

The press release continues, "The Call to Unite is a celebration of those acts of humanity, and an invitation to the world to join in lifting one another in this moment of need. We need each other. Now more than ever."

At the function, a plethora of stars will turn up to empower the audience. Each participant will answer the call in their own unique manner, whether it's singing a song, extending a prayer or sharing their story.

The celebrities expected to feature includes a long list, most notably Alanis Morissette, Charlamagne tha God, Common, Daniel Dae Kim, Deepak Chopra, Eva Longoria, Josh Groban, Jennifer Garner, Mandy Moore, Maria Shriver, Naomi Campbell, Martin Sheen, and Quincy Jones.

Additionally, George W. Bush, Martin Luther King III, Tim Shriver, Marie Kondo, Minnie Driver, Jewel and Debbie Allen are all expected to participate.

Program partners GiveDirectly and Points of Light will allow audiences to donate anything they want — whether financial resources or hours of volunteering — to families and societies most in need of it.

Call to Unite will be broadcast live on unite.us while supporting networks include Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, LinkedIn and SiriusXM Stars channel 109. In the meantime, Spotify will also include on-demand excerpts from the event during and after the 24-hour span.

UNITE, a new collaboration headed by Shriver, will be hosting the case.

Call to Unite is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. on Friday. ET and finish on Saturday at 8 p.m.
