Bebe Winans began his weight loss journey when he weighed 225 pounds. He explained all the details of how he underwent 75- pound weight loss in an interview with Randi Myles on Praise 102.7 in Detroit in 2018. He talked about the importance of diet and exercise in the program and said that he engages in the process daily by reminding himself that 'Little profit is better than no profit.'

'It's so therapeutic that I can't see any other way in starting my day other than exercising and it does wonders for you, 'he said in the interview. 'It really does, and you know I was 33 when I was 255 pounds and here's how it started. I was getting out of the shower, it was near there, and words proceeded out of my mouth: 'Who are these people.' I don't like several people; you notice how I didn't.'

'I got dressed, and I went down, so where's the nearest gym, and since that day, 17 years ago, I have not stopped, 'Bebe added. 'So if you don't stop, you can do it. Just a little bit at a time just one day at a time, take it. I now look back, and I am in the best shape of my life. I feel good, and when checking with the doctor, everything comes back wonderful.' And that's how he dropped 72 pounds.
Bebe Winans talked about his workout routine with the hosts in 'The Real Daytime' in 2019: 'I get up at 4 in the morning every morning, and I pray, first. And then I get into the car, and I go and run 7 miles every day.'
Bebe Winans released several albums in his career. He first worked with his sister CeCe Winans, and later began working as a solo artist. Jim Bakker's television show The PTL Club took an interest in BeBe and his sister CeCe as background vocalists for the show. They auditioned and were accepted and worked on the show for about five years.

During their time on PTL, BeBe and CeCe recorded 'Lord Lift Us Up' on PTL's label after popular demand on the show. The label's success prompted a full-length album, and the album did well on the charts. BeBe and CeCe left PTL to pursue their singing career and recorded five albums together, including self-titled 'BeBe & CeCe Winans,' 'Heaven,' 'Different Lifestyles,' 'First Christmas and Relationships.' In 1995, BeBe and CeCe split up to pursue solo careers.
