Anna Faris’s son is dealing with health issues ever since he was born.
Anna Faris shares a 7-year-old son named Jack Pratt with former husband and Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt. Although the couple is no longer in a romantic relationship, the duo still spends time together to raise their kid.
When it comes to parenting, it’s been anything but plain sailing for this pair. The struggle is real for Faris and Pratt; however, it’s got nothing to do with the turmoil in their own relationship.
Ever since his premature birth, Jack’s been dealing with several health complications resulting from cerebral hemorrhage and various other issues. As this news came to light, the former pair began to publicly speak of their struggles as well as blessings.

At the time of Jack’s delivery, the infant suffered severe brain bleeding upon being born merely seven months into Faris’s pregnancy. The couple feared the worst when they were compelled to welcome Jack prematurely. On the back of their minds, they couldn’t help wonder about the persistent lingering issues that could affect their child for life.
In Faris’s memoir, she elaborately talked about the fear and uncertainty the parents went through at the time.
The actress, subject to health issues of her own, recalled,
The pediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding, and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled.
The next 18 months were even more saddening for the duo since they could not receive confirmation of the developmental issues of their only child. You could imagine the wait must have felt like decades for Anna and Chris.

Thankfully for the couple, bar minor issues with his vision and muscles in his legs, there were no major concerns with Jack. He only needed a few corrective surgeries, and the young boy was ready to live a normal life, much to the relief of his parents. Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel’s podcast, Faris said:
When Jack was born two months early, it came as a huge shock. And suddenly, your world completely shifts. Jack had a few surgeries. He had a few hernia surgeries, he’s had a few eye surgeries, and he had a little heart issue as well.
Meanwhile, the multimillionaire star was full of praise for Pratt, who she believes made her life as great as possible even during the darkest moments of their parenthood amid the struggle with Jack’s health.

Faris continued in the Jimmy Kimmel podcast,
He decorated my room with posters and photos, and he came to the hospital every night after work with desserts for me and, sometimes, a six-pack of beer for himself, and he’d just sit with me and hold my hand or crawl into bed.
Pratt later married Katherine Swargenneger in June 2019 following his split from Faris a year earlier. Likewise, the actress got engaged to cinematographer Michael Barrett in February 2020. Meanwhile, Jack, now a healthy 7-year-old boy, is welcoming even more love from new members in his family.
