Jen Atkin Weight Loss - Story of Her Pageant-Winning Secret

Here's a story you should know. Something out of a movie, Jen Atkin has completed a tremendous journey to get back at an ex.

The best way to flex on your ex is improving yourself to become a better person. The new Miss Great Britain 2020, Jen Atkin taught the world by transforming herself and winning the prestigious title.

The 2020 Miss Britain has a fantastic story to tell about her journey of achieving the current title, and it is quite inspiring to every woman who goes through the torments of body shaming and being mistreated by people around them. 

Jen Atkin's Incredible Weight Loss Journey

Jen Atkin, 26, lost 112 lbs, going from 238 pounds to 126 pounds in a period of two years. She admits that she became a couch potato at one point and binged on takeout meals often. When she was with her ex, her weight had spiraled as she would binge on takeaways.

The beauty queen had ballooned to nearly 18 stone but shed almost half her body weight after her devastating ordeal. At the time, she was due to wed her boyfriend the following year. But her ex-fiancé broke up with her over her looks and left Jen devastated.

The beauty queen, who is now married after finding love again, said: 'When we broke up, I was devastated, but it ended up being the best thing that's happened to me.'

"I eat so much better, I don't follow a diet, but I think about what I eat so much more. I still enjoy meals out, but don't binge like I used to! I go to the gym five times a week now, and I love it, it's become a staple part of my life and has helped me in so many ways."

Atkin lost eight stones by swapping takeaways for healthy eating, going from a size 22 to a size ten over two years. It started as an idea of fun and a way to distract herself but became a huge deal for Jen as she kept at it.

The reason for Jen's ex-fiancé to ditch his blushing bride-to-be? She'd been overeating junk food and had gotten "too fat."  Atkins was disappointed and seriously hurt by the incident, after which she changed her way of living.

After slimming from 17st to 9st, Jen was named Miss Scunthorpe before going on to compete for the title of Miss England in 2018, where she finished first runner up. 

She then briefly retired from competing in pageants after getting married but decided to give it one more shot after having her name put forward to represent Great Britain.

After being named the 75th Miss Great Britain following a whirlwind couple of years, Jen said: "It was such a shock - three years ago I would never ever expected to be winning Miss GB." Jen got the last laugh at her ex-fiancé by winning the contest.

She claimed that while she 'definitely wasn't the prettiest girl' in the pageant, and was still the largest of the contestants at a size 10-12, she won because of her personality shining through during the interviews. 

Atkins is not only a beauty queen but is also a country singer and released her first single in 2018 through the record label MHMG, reaching number two in the ReverbNation national charts.

She has further plans for herself, now happily married, and winning such a prominent title, Atkins has a much more positive and happier outlook to life.

We can learn a lot from Jen's success story; we often undermine ourselves because of other people's opinions failing to see our potential.
