Netflix 'You' - Jenna Ortega Debunks Major Theory About Joe and Ellie in Season 3

All of us are baffled by the ending of Netflix You season 2, leaving us with a whole bunch of questions. Like are Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti) just going to get away with murder? Who is Joe's mysterious new neighbor? What's going to happen to Ellie? And fans have their theories about the show.

One of the intriguing storylines of You Season 2 was the character of Ellie Alves played by Jenna Ortega. Joe Goldberg's 15-year-old neighbor Ellie brought humor, innocence, and wisdom to the second season of the Netflix drama, but she was also left entirely abandoned by the end of the season.

Fans of the show have theories up their sleeves for Ellie's storyline in the third season of the show, but the actress Jenna Ortega has her thoughts on her character's journey from here.

Jenna Ortega's Theory About Joe and Ellie in Season 3

After the You season 2 ended, fans came up with a lot of their own theories about their favorite characters. One of the most popular theory was that the neighbor shown at the end of season 2 was Joe's mother, which Penn Badgley debunked.

In season 2 after Joe kills Delilah (played by Carmela Zumbado), Ellie is all alone. However, Joe makes sure she is okay, helping her to get out of the chaos.

The fan theories say that in the third season, Ellie might kill one of the main characters or expose them for what they did. The most popular one says that Ellie might turn into a murderer.

In a new interview with Insider, Jenna confirms that despite the fate of her sister Delilah, she's probably not going to go out seeking revenge on Joe. "To me, that defeats the purpose of Ellie's storyline."

Right now we see her as somebody who's incredibly hurt, rejected by a lot of people, and got the worst of the worst. To bring her back and make her a murderer like Joe defeats the purpose because that's not how her character is winding up.

The actress worth $2 million, says, "It takes away from her innocence, and it takes away from that fear factor that she has of being a teenage girl involved with this psycho serial killer, Joe."

One idea is that the aspiring director could come back to LA to release the movie that Forty Quinn wrote, Dark Face of Love, which is based on Guinevere Beck's book (from You Season 1), which would be a pretty smart revenge plan.

"I love that theory!" Ortega said in response.

I want Ellie to come out of this stronger than before, and I know how badly she wants to be a director.

Like Jenna said if she ends up being a killer like Joe or Love, it would defeat her whole character build up. We've seen Ellie as someone who's been hurt by things that happened in her life, and it would only make sense if she grows into a stronger, smarter character in the show.
