His substance abuse seemed to have majorly affected his clarity. Though Brown stated that he was four years sober, his friends told Dr. Phil that it was a lie. It was also noticeable when the actor began speaking about his children.

All the drug abuse he's been doing is gravely affecting his mental state. In 2016, Brown was arrested and charged with domestic battery, obstruction of justice, drug possession with the intent to sell, and possession of contraband following a public altercation with his then-girlfriend.
