Julie Chen has made a couple of changes to her face. One of the surgeries that Julie went through was Blepharoplasty. It is a surgery to repair droopy eyelids and may involve removing excess skin and fats.

The 5'5" tall anchor worked on her eyes in the 1990s. According to USA Today, Chen was 25-years-old and worked as a local news journalist in Dayton, Ohio. 

Julie always wanted to work as a news anchor. So, the host asked the News director if she could fill the vacancy post of News Anchor, but the director said, 'You will never be on this anchor desk, because you're Chinese.'

The director said that the Asian eye was Chen's problem. She tried to find a new job, but a long-time agent told Julie that she couldn't get a news anchor job unless she worked in her eyes.

Julie felt that she was facing racism. But the insecurity led her to work on her eyes to have big eyes that could be more expressive. Yes, this is the story of her first plastic surgery.

The television anchor recommended some of the surgeons, and she was advised to have Blepharoplasty. Chen had the excess skin above her lids removed, creating a crease. She was happy with the results.

According to Dayton Daily News, Lisa Scott, the owner of Beaute Box day spa in downtown Dayton, says Julie Chen's nose is clearly broader in her headshot from around 1995 than in any of her after pictures, including one recent image showing her without makeup.
