Just in: Dr. Drew Pinsky tests positive for COVID-19, says he is quarantining for now!

Addiction medicine specialist Drew Pinsky, known popularly as Dr. Drew, has tested positive for the coronavirus. He informed all of his fans through an Instagram post on Tuesday, writing that he's feeling better. 

According to the Instagram post, Pinsky's wife, Susan Sailer Pinsky, tested negative for the virus, and he is resting in his home under surveillance.

The famous internet personality posted a picture with his masked wife and captioned it as, 

"Cheers to the New Year with some Hydralyte for Covid-19. Drew tested positive day 4, and @firstladyoflove is negative #2020 #covid19 #youlive," 

The post also read, "Drew is home, under surveillance, and fever is down. Thanks, Dr. Zelenko, Dr. Yo, and Dr. Jeff, for superior care and advice. Drew is feeling better and will hopefully get well soon."

His wife also went on to explain the situation of taking all sorts of precautions to stop the virus from spreading in their home. She said that her husband was at the hospital to receive the vaccine but instead contracted the virus.

Mrs. Pinsky wrote, "I am not sick. Kids are not sick. We all had covid test on the 20th, neg, 25th, neg, yesterday the 28, neg. Now we wear masks, and I wand the area, Clorox, and Drew is very alone in the master with a trap door for food."

Before the 62-year-old got down with the novel coronavirus, he made a controversial comment that the pandemic was a press induced panic and also went on to compare it with the common flu.

In an interview with KTLA-TV, he commented it was "Way less serious than influenza — that should be the headline," for which he apologized later on.
